Healing Starts Here: Help Your Dog Thrive Beyond Trauma

A private membership led by renowned dog trainer and best-selling author Annie Phenix, offering expert guidance, proven tools, and a supportive community to help you heal your dog’s trauma and rebuild trust - at your (and your dog’s) pace, for as long as you need it.

Have you ever looked into your dog’s eyes and seen fear staring back at you?

It’s a feeling that stays with you - a mix of heartbreak, helplessness, and frustration, isn’t it?

You’ve tried to reassure them, maybe even tried training, but something isn’t clicking. The barking continues, the lunging on walks, the trembling at every loud sound.

If you’re like most compassionate dog owners, you might be asking yourself:

- Am I doing something wrong?
- Why can’t my dog feel safe?
- Will we ever get past this?

The truth is, it’s not your fault. And more importantly, it’s not your dog’s fault either.

Trauma changes how dogs see the world—it puts them on constant high alert, stuck in survival mode.

And no amount of training can work if their nervous system is still on edge.

If you’ve been looking for ways to help your dog, you know that there is no shortage of advice out there. But many of the options to help traumatized dogs fall short because they focus on surface-level behavior instead of addressing the root cause - trauma.

Traditional obedience training and punishment-based methods often deepen a dog’s fear, generic online courses and well-meaning advice from friends or your vet lack the personalization and trauma-informed approach necessary for real healing.

But here’s the good news:

Healing doesn’t have to take forever, it doesn’t require harsh or outright cruel methods, and you don’t have to do it alone.

At The Canine Trauma Clinic, we understand what it’s like to love a dog who’s struggling. And we’re here to guide you every step of the way toward the calm, connected, and joyful relationship you both deserve.

Hi, I’m Annie Phenix.

As a trainer and Bestselling Author, I knew a lot about dogs when I took in my two Heeler-Border Collie brothers Finn and Cooper.

They were taken from their mother at 5 weeks of age and thrown into a backyard with no supervision or enrichment. They came to me with several types of worms and fear in their eyes and little bodies.

Finn and Cooper were a LOT of work for my husband and me. But we were happy to put the time into showing them they were safe. Eventually (it took 7 months) they believed us and now they are thriving.

It's what inspired me to focus my work on what comes BEFORE training. I created The Canine Trauma Clinic to share what I’ve learned with you so that you can finally stop feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and unsure of how to help your dog and start building trust instead - watching your dog thrive with the confidence and connection you’ve always dreamed of.
